4 Things Happy Couples Don’t Do No Matter What Happens

BY EMILY MORRISON
Relationships aren’t easy. At times, being someone’s other half can feel like carrying the Olympic torch. It takes commitment, hard work and emotional stamina to keep the flame of love alive. However, love isn't meant to feel like a grueling test of endurance. Happy couples don’t need to perform mental and emotional gymnastics on a daily basis to keep their torch lit. Here are four things gold medal partners do not do in the game of love.1. Keep score.
People who keep track of what their partner does and does not do for them generally do so because they feel overburdened. Whether one person is putting in 10% or 110%, relationships that keep a tally of how much effort each partner is contributing will never add up to 100. When a person approaches a relationship with a “what have you done for me lately?” attitude, she will be disappointed, often.

13 Things All Men Should Know About Pregnant Women

by Aaron Gouveia
When it comes to dealing with pregnant women, I'm no expert. Hell, I still don't even know how to figure out women in general. In fact, I'm the antithesis of an expert. Luckily for you, I've made just about every single stupid mistake and placed my foot so far in my mouth during my wife's pregnancies that I'm overqualified to speak to you about things you need to know to avoid getting knocked out by the knocked up.

Here are the 13 most important things to remember.
1. Feed her constantly.
Everyone knows food is important to pregnant women. But what the uninitiated might not realize is that time is of the essence. The bottom line is, when she says she's hungry, she means it. Feed that woman immediately or she will eat your f*cking face. Know that "I'm hungry" doesn't mean she's looking forward to the dinner plans you have in an hour. It means give her a snack before you leave for the restaurant. And then again when you get in the car. Failure to promptly produce snacks will result in extreme b*tchiness at best, and bodily injury at worst. Just turn yourself into a walking, talking vending machine for nine months and you'll be fine.

CIARA’S GREAT EXPECTATIONS

by Sarah Leon
On an April afternoon in a chilly L.A. photo studio, the Grammy-winning pop star Ciara steps out of her dressing room in an architectural crop top. She is eight months pregnant—and ready to have her picture taken. “People are going to be like, ‘What are you doing?’” she says, gesturing at what her fiancé, the rapper Future, has taken to calling the “growing basketball” in their lives. “It feels good to not have to wonder whether your abs are tight enough,” she says. “I like not being so perfect.”
This seems debatable. The 28-year-old singer’s belly is the only part of her to have noticeably swelled. Her hips, with a gray Margiela sweater wrapped modestly around them, remain slim. Even sans glamazon hair, body makeup, and professional styling (after the shoot, she changes into an off-duty ensemble featuring baggy ripped jeans courtesy of her fiancé’s closet), she still looks the part of a superstar.

Woman Gives Birth To 14.5 Pounds Of Squishy Babyness

Give her some sort of Congressional medal of bravery.
Here is baby Carisa Ruscak, born via c-section at 14lbs, 8 ounces:

Proud parents Caroline and Bryan of Burlington, MA. Their first baby was 10.5lbs

Mom Caroline and baby Carisa are healthy, and the pregnancy was uncomplicated according to her doctor.
Carisa is the second largest baby ever delivered at Mass General Hospital (the biggest was just one ounce chubbier). Caroline told local Boston news WCVB-TV, “I heard the weight and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ It validated me because I was in a lot of pain when I was pregnant, so to hear the size, it made sense.”

On a personal note, I went to high school with Caroline, and she was a star athlete and a lovely person. Congrats to mom and baby!

Celebrity Babies 2014

Winston Elba — April 17, 2014
It's a boy for Idris Elba. The Golden Globe winner and his girlfriend, Naiyana Garth, announced the birth of their son, Winston Elba, on April 17. The actor couldn't help but gush about his new little guy. "My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday. Truly Amazing :-)," Elba tweeted along with a photo of his son holding his finger. This is the couple's first child. Elba, 41, has a daughter, Isan, 11, from a previous relationship.
Baby Bartha — April 13, 2014
Aloha, baby! Justin Bartha, 35, and his wife, Lia Smith, welcomed a baby girl on April 13. The pair, who wed in an intimate ceremony on the Hawaiian island of Oahu in January, announced they were expecting their first child shortly after their ceremony. No further details about their kiddo are available at this time.

Expectant Parents Asked the Internet to Name Their Child. And the Winning Name Is…

In January of this year, an expectant father named Stephen started the website NameMyDaughter.com, where anyone on the Internet could suggest and vote on potential names for Stephen’s forthcoming baby girl.
Well, as noted by the folks at Betabeat, Stephen’s wife gave birth on April 7. And the winning name is — drumroll, please! — Amelia Savannah Joy McLaughlin.
Kind of sweet, right? Or, sweeter than you might have expected from the feces-hurling cesspool that is the Internet?
“All bow down to the great and powerful Cthulhu!” (Global News)
Unfortunately for those looking to have their faith in humanity restored, “Amelia Savannah Joy” did not technically win the vote. The real first-place name was “Cthulhu All-Spark.” (“Cthulhu” won the vote for first name, and “All-Spark” won the vote for middle name.)
The parents, who live in British Columbia, Canada, rejected that one in favor of the second-place name, Amelia. Though they did have a good sense of humor about the results:
“All bow down to the great and powerful Cthulhu,” mom Kathryn posted to Facebook after the birth, according to Canada’s Global News, along with a photo of the newborn.

What Your Sleeping Style Reveals About Your Relationship

By By Agata Blaszczak-Boxe
Are you a creative person stuck in an unhappy relationship? Or an extrovert who gets along well with your partner? Your preferred sleeping position may reveal the answers to these questions, and other secrets about your personality and relationship.

In a survey, 1,000 people reported their preferred sleeping positions, and also gave information about their personalities and relationship quality. It turned out that the farther apart people in relationships slept from their partners, the worse they rated their relationships.
A full 94 percent of couples who touched each other while sleeping said they were happy in their relationships, whereas 68 percent of couples who didn't touch each other during sleep rated their relationships as happy. The research also found that extroverts tended to sleep closer to their partners, and creative people usually slept on their left side.

Celebrity Wedding's Profile - 2014

The last of the Backstreet Boys is off the market. Nick Carter, 30, said "I do" to his fitness model girlfriend Lauren Kitt on April 12 in Santa Barbara, California. The pair exchanged vows under an arbor filled with purple and white blooms. The bride wore a strapless, mermaid-style gown with lace appliques to walk down the aisle, while the groom had on a fitted black Anthony Franco tux. The "I'll Be the One" singer's BSB band mates, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean joined the duo for their special day.

It was happily ever after for "Once Upon a Time" co-stars Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas. The duo, who play Snow White and Prince Charming on the hit ABC show, wed in an intimate surprise ceremony on April 12, according to Goodwin's rep. The pair are keeping the details about their nuptials under wraps, but we can bet that the "He's Just Not That Into You" actress found a dress that hugged her pregnancy curves in all the right places. The cute couple, who announced their engagement in October 2013, are expecting their first child together this spring.

25 Reasons Why Married Sex Is Better

By Rosa Heyman
Let's get it on
Married sex gets a bad rap, but hey — we once believed the earth was flat! Forget the rumors of marriage monotony and infrequency; there's plenty of toe-curling intimacy to be had between husband and wife. Check out this list of reasons why married sex trumps singlehood sex and then get your husband alone, stat!
1. Morning sex
Morning sex anytime you want it — you share the same bed! You might have to set your alarm a little earlier, but it'll be worth it.
2. You can initiate
You know that he wants you — he married you, after all!
3. You don't have to look perfect
He's seen you when you're exhausted and after you've gotten out of the shower when you forgot to take off your eye makeup — and he still loves you. Sex is stress-free when you don't have to worry about having the perfect makeup, the perfect lingerie, or even being perfectly groomed.

A Child's Bittersweet Birth— 4 Months After Mom's Death

DANIEL P. FINNEY SHARES THE STORY OF CARALYN YOHO

Dear Caralyn,

You’re barely a month old now, too young to read this letter. But one day soon, someone will show you this, and maybe it will help you understand the wonderful confluence of love and hope that brought you into this world on Nov. 26, 2013.
It began with your mom, Laura Brammeier Yoho, a beautiful woman with focused brown eyes, long brown hair and a lean, lithe body from a lifetime of work in the gym and near-perfect nutrition. But her heart beat hardest for the loves of her life, you and your dad.
She met your dad, Nate Yoho, while they both worked at the Aspen Athletic Club on Merle Hay Road in 2007. Your dad played baseball at the University of Iowa and in the minor leagues for the Milwaukee Brewers. He is a hunk with a barrel chest and arms like steel cable, but his strength runs so much deeper than his muscles.
Your mom and dad fell in love. The day they proposed was so special that they re-enacted it on video, and it became a commercial for a local jewelry store. They married in August 2011. If life were a storybook, they would have lived happily ever after. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always work out that way.

Mom Dies so Her Baby Can Live

 By Newser | Parenting
Cancer survivor Elizabeth Joice was told the chemotherapy that helped her beat sarcoma in 2010 would also leave her infertile, so when she and husband Max got the news that she was in fact pregnant last year, "it very much felt like a miracle," he tells CNN.
The happy news, however, was short-lived. Just a month into her pregnancy, Joice's cancer returned, and though surgeons removed tumors from her back, there was no way of knowing how far the cancer had spread without a full-body MRI scan. But the dyes used in the scan could harm the baby, meaning she'd need to end the pregnancy before undergoing the procedure.
